Brian Crawford, AIC, AIM
Director of Claims
Brian Crawford is a 2002 graduate of Bellarmine University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration and was a four-year member of the Bellarmine baseball team. In 2003, Brian began his insurance career with The Cincinnati Insurance Company, serving as a Multi-Line Claims Specialist and later as Field Claims Manager for the Central Kentucky territory. After 11 years of developing extensive claims and leadership experience, he joined Sterling Thompson Company in 2014. Brian currently serves as Director of Claims while also acting as a Business Insurance Advisor, partnering with clients to deliver strategic risk management and insurance solutions. Outside of the office, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife, Brandi, their daughter Camille, and their two sons, Miles and Brooks.
Angie JOnes, AIC
Claims Analyst
After traveling and working for Crystal Cruise Line for ten years, Angie Jones returned to Louisville to settle down. She attained her Bachelor’s degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville, and completed an internship with Sterling Thompson Company during her final year of studies. Two years later (in 2014) she joined the Sterling Thompson Company team to begin her insurance career, and has since obtained her Property & Casualty License, as well as her Resident Independent Adjustor license. Angie serves as a Claims Analyst, helping Sterling Thompson clients navigate the often confusing experience of having an insurance claim.
Courtney Simms
Claims Service Specialist
Courtney Simms grew up in Bardstown, KY. She came to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville and decided it was home. Courtney graduated with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. She has a diverse professional background that includes retail, security, pre-trial services, youth counseling, management, and now insurance. She joined Sterling Thompson Company in 2023 as a Claims Service Specialist and received her property and casualty insurance license in 2025. Courtney is excited to learn everything she can and see where this new career takes her in life.
Out of the office, Courtney enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and cuddling her two cats, Athena and Luna.
Matthew Thompson
Senior Claims Specialist
Matthew joined Sterling Thompson Company in 2024, bringing with him his experience and expertise as a multi-line claim adjuster with Amica, Pekin Insurance, and Travelers. He graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science in management with concentrations in finance and international business. While attending Purdue, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. As a licensed adjuster, Matthew understands that providing excellent customer service, utilizing knowledge of policies and best claims handling practices, and being detail-oriented are the best ways to ensure a successful claims experience.
Matthew currently resides in southern Indiana with his wife, Emily, and two children, Henry and Ellie. He enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, supporting the Purdue Boilermakers, and golfing.
